    The title alone is amazing

are more limited than some gamers may think. Once a character is pregnant, they can’t Woo-Hoo anymore, they won’t age, they can’t take a pregnancy test (?) and they also can’t blow out the candles on their birthday cake because of the aforementioned not-ageing thing.

    It looks like a curse

Okay, this is something I’m going to have to test. This article left me with more questions than answers, especially when the writer claimed that pregnant sims can’t woohoo or take a pregnancy test. I can’t tell if they mean since this patch pregnant sims can’t do those things, or if they haven’t played the game enough to know that those things are false. The fact there’s a question mark in parentheses doesn’t help.

Also, the screenshot showing a child not be able to do something because they’re “pregnant” doesn’t necessarily mean the sim is pregnant - it could well be a bug related to how the menu is displayed, which sounds possible since it seems to be occuring across the board. The article is about sims being pregnant, but not about them having babies, and I find that an odd distinction.

But I have this game, and the patch is already downloaded. Let’s see if I’m a lucky winner and this bug shows up.

    To game for science!

Edit: I tried with a fresh, new, mod-free game file. I tried with an old game file both with and without mods. Alas, I was unable to recreate this glitch in my game.

While not every player is not privy to the nightmare of every person in their game becoming with child, those who have the bug are finding a large number of Sims randomly marked as pregnant.

    Who the fuck wrote this?

Once a character is pregnant, they can’t Woo-Hoo anymore,

Never pegged The Sims for being so Puritain.

There are a lot of euphemisms in The Sims so they can keep their T rating, with sex being called woo-hoo probably being the biggest one. The other big one I can think of is that alcohol is referred to as “Juice”

I don’t think the Puritans had any issue with pregnant people having sex.

I assumed they were generally against the concept of sex not strictly for the purpose of reproduction.

Debunking the Myth Surrounding Puritans and Sex

The Puritans weren’t prudish. In fact, they were passionate.

From the beginning, Puritans maintained sexual intercourse was necessary for procreation, but also asserted sex was an important way for couples to bond in a loving relationship.

“They talk about the duty to desire, that you’re supposed to engage in intercourse with your married partner and that this is good,” says Bremer. “There will actually be some people in early New England who are censured by the church because they have deprived their married partner of sex for three months or more and this is seen as bad.”

Bet I can guess the gender of the people who were censured…

I’m assuming that you’re guessing “female”?

              https://sexualityandthecity.com/2016/11/26/when-women-wanted-sex-much-more-than-men/

In the 1600s, a man named James Mattock was expelled from the First Church of Boston. His crime? It wasn’t using lewd language or smiling on the Sabbath or anything else that we might think the Puritans had disapproved of. Rather, James Mattock had refused to have sex with his wife for two years.

Looking at other sources, the expulsion was in 1640.

Men could get pregnant in Sims 4 for awhile, I think. I guess the bug is it that neighborhood stories aren’t working and checking if someone is in a relationship and has the ‘can be pregnant’ tag.

Yup! But I think men had to be abducted by aliens and he’d show up preggo with an alien baby some days later.

I don’t think it was possible to impregnate women sims this way, but I may be misremembering.

They added a toggle at some point when creating a sim so you could be a male who could get pregnant, if you wanted a sim to be a trans man, for example.

At least I think that’s vanilla. I have so many mods its hard to remember anymore.

This is unironically the future the West is perfectly fine with, if not wants. For young men to scream and strike their fathers, to play pretend rather than taking up arms to defend their land. When this sort of madness takes the throne and rules over the land, who will be spared?

We must protect our society from this sort of debauchery, for people like this will target our sons and daughters with their rabid ideology. We must be willing to fight to the last drop of blood, against the barbarians that have returned in modernity
