    There is no such thing as an “unreviewable” decision. Even if the decision is backed by the law, it can still be reviewed, in order to confirm that it is indeed backed by the law.

    Trump is not just arguing that he has the right to do this; he’s arguing that there should be no legal review process at all, which is an argument any kinds of checks and balances whatsoever. He’s demanding total autocracy.

        Then go do something about it? Why don’t you go carry out the violence that needs to be done instead of playing internet badass and trying to goad other people into doing it? You’re no different then the rednecks I overhear at the gas station who want to shoot Joe Biden.

        EDIT: After some thought, I want to add that you’re not really paying attention to what Trump is doing, or you’re an agitator.

        Trump REALLY wants violence. He wants it so bad it hurts. Everything he’s been doing - tearing down the inner workings of the government, destroying our economy, our relationships with other countries, the meager, if existent at all social safety nets, abducting people off the street, he’s trying to push people to the breaking point. He wants us violent and scared. From the assassination attempt on the campaign trail to the June 14th protests, he looks for any excuse to play the victim. Hell, look at the LA protests! He was so eager to crack skulls, he jumped the gun and commandeered California’s national guard and the Marines before anything of substance really happened. By the time Saturday rolled around, he already played his hand and couldn’t cry “insurrection!” like he was trying to do a few days earlier. Instead he had to let it happen and sulk in his shitty impotent parade. He looked powerless and weak, probably the biggest blow to his ego yet. Peaceful protest is working. We’re proving that Trump has no mandate, has no interest in anyone but himself, and we’re not going to take it anymore. It’s getting too big to ignore and sweep under the rug. And the best part is, that he can’t declare an “emergency” and just take power. He may still try, but it will look far less legitimate than if he were to do so while people are burning the streets

        Executions are always weaponized against the innocent and the enemies of the state, and should never be tolerated in any society. Prosecution and imprisonment is fine, it just needs to finish what it started, rather than letting a fascist felon walk free and pardon the rest.

        Fascism doesn’t require living Nazis. It just requires greed, ambition, hate, and fear. Even if you could wipe away every last fascist on the Earth (you definitely can’t), within three generations people will forget why you did it in the first place, and start thinking “boy, we sure do have a lot of problems, and this charming asshole makes it sound like all those problems have simple, easy, violent solutions.”

        Every generation, every society, and every people needs to stand vigilant against the rise of tyranny, because it can happen anywhere.

    Department of Justice lawyers representing the Trump administration returned to court today to repeat their maximalist argument that the president has the authority to commandeer state National Guards troops and that judges have no authority to second guess him.

    “Maximilist” is doing a heavy lift to help the author avoid say “Fascistic.”

    Here’s an image of what the world would look like right now if we listened to all the lawyers who have lawyered for Trump. And I use the term “lawyered” loosely.
