This is usually configurable in most apps. For example, Eternity has a setting called “Show community and user display names” (on by default), and Summit has a setting called “Prefer user display names” (off by default).
I think I saw that setting in Eternity. Didn’t notice it in Summit but there’s a lot of options in Summit, so I could’ve easily missed it. Thanks for letting me know it’s there somewhere though, I’ll look for it.
