Definitely. I only got easy internet in my pocket after school. Before that, I was raised by Sonic the Hedgehog and Captain Planet in my childhood years, and punk rock in my teenage years. And it was never a phase, mom.

I tried Tumblr out briefly not long ago, finally. And I guess I’ve missed the good days? The place feels a little too much like a shopping mall as opposed to what I was expecting. These tumblr memes always gave me ‘old internet’ vibes but what I saw was a lot closer to modern Facebook style.
I would hesitate to wish tooth related pain on my worst enemy.
The really funny thing about Spez is that he’s far from a power player in the tech scene, nowhere near the likes of Musk and Zuckerberg. But he so desperately wants to be that he actually just looks sad and pathetic in the process.
Wtf is he going to do with his stockpile of motorbikes during the apocalypse? Start a Mad Max biker crew? What a fkn loser lol.
This was basically the answer I came here to say. I immediately thought of all of the stories I’ve read about people throwing game controllers and punching TVs and it’s fine because mommy and daddy will just buy new shit for them. If I did that sort of shit with my second hand Mega Drive then I would’ve kissed good bye to any childhood gaming.
Same goes for these parents that will smash up their child’s computer as punishment or something. Absolute spoilt fucking brats with no appreciation for the things their money buys, raising the next generation of spoilt brats.
I think I saw that setting in Eternity. Didn’t notice it in Summit but there’s a lot of options in Summit, so I could’ve easily missed it. Thanks for letting me know it’s there somewhere though, I’ll look for it.
Edit: yup, found it. In the misc section where I was probably tired of playing with settings at that point.
Nah I’ve been back on my Blåhaj account for the last week or two already. I didn’t have the same username on that account though.
Here’s the reason for all of the username changes, Zero22xx has been my online handle for like 8 years now and it’s time to retire it, simply. It doesn’t really represent me anymore. And Secret Music was supposed to be temporary until I could figure out my new long-term online handle. Which is why the username on my lemm.ee amount was “Character_Locked” lol. But actually in the mean time, Secret Music has been growing on me more and more. It’s from a line of a song that I’ve been basically obsessed with this whole year so far.
And that’s my story, thanks for listening lol. Sorry for the username shenanigans.
Thanks for the reminder about this movie. Saw the trailer a couple of months ago (probably when Beetlejuice 2 was running in theatres) and thought it looked pretty cool. Gonna check if it’s on streaming platforms yet.
I just realized we’ve talked before!
This is a problem I’ve noticed between different apps and interfaces. I’ve actually had this username set as my screen name on my old account for a couple of months now. But I notice that different apps seem to randomly choose whether they’re going to display usernames or screen names. For example, Eternity displayed screen names, Summit only displays usernames unless you go into a profile.
It’s pretty cool here. I’ve mainly made the switch so that I can see that alt community. Which is actually just as dead as all of the other interests I like to regularly interact with lol. And I’m pretty the one person around here that regularly posts content I enjoy is pretty sick of seeing me by now.
So I’ve actually started using F*c*b**k a bit again, sadly. At least I can doomscroll and comment on things without feeling like a nuisance or loser lol. That’s where I’m getting my supply of memes from right now. Maybe if I can help other people not feel so alone here if I join in and post the content that I’d like to see. Not sure how long it’s going to last thirty because this isn’t what I really want out of a platform like this. Posting memes and shit is actually kinda boring compared to commenting on memes and shit.
That’s just paranoid to me. I had three or four different accounts over my time at Reddit. And I’ve had multiple different usernames since the forum days. I’m pretty sure a lot of people here never just had one Reddit account or username between those. And I mean, come on. You have to shop around different instances here.
At this point, if someone is going to make accusations like that despite linking to my old people in this profile’s bio and vice versa, then they’re probably just unpleasant and paranoid people.
Oof it’s just alts all the way down lol. I’ve actually received a DM out of the blue for interacting with that person. And maybe it’s true. But the fact that I was also accused not long ago makes me wonder if there’s DMs going around behind my back whenever anyone interacts with me too.
All I can say is that this is a mess that makes everyone involved look bad.
Ha! I also had someone accuse me of being an alt account of someone else the other day. And the impression that I got from that accusation was that it was a case of “you’re not falling in line and following the script and you’re saying something unpopular, therefore you must be a bot / troll.” And I’ve definitely seen people around here accusing others of being alts in various comment sections too. To the point where I’m going to just stop taking it seriously.
At this point, I don’t care what the cliquey in crowd around here says or dictates. I’ll make up my own mind. I’m sick of both the internal politics and a lot of these grumbly neckbeards around here too.
Like, I think I say “like” quite a bit. And I’ve noticed that I use “awesome” quite a lot. And “personally” when I’m giving my opinion about something, especially typing on a platform like this, I sometimes need to reword my shit to avoid frequent use of “personally” lol. Also, for some reason this stuck in my mind, according to a word cloud on Reddit a while ago, one of my most frequently used words of all is “people”.
Other than that, I say “what the fuck” to myself fairly often while reading the news these days. And I think “holy shit” is also up there “awesome” for me.
Edit: oh I think I also say something like “know what I mean?” quite a lot too.
Edit 2: also “I mean”. I mean, seriously.
And also now that you’ve started it, it would kinda suck to stop now. There’s still a chance that you’re pleasantly surprised by the end of it lol. Maybe it’s the feeling like you’re kinda obligated to watch it that spoils it a bit too.
Haha I know the feeling. That kind of stuff usually sits on my watchlist for ages while I stall. Been a while since I’ve subjected myself to something like that. Haven’t seen Generation Kill either, not too big into war stuff myself.
In recent memory:
Yeah, I think TV and movie communities would probably benefit even more than chat and ask communities by starting with content for people to see and not starting from scratch all over again.
It’s a pity that piefed doesn’t add to the subscriber count yet (I never knew that) but personally as a user looking for a place to sub to, I’m looking at the amount of content more than the subscriber count.
