Three logicians walk into a bar. The bartender asks, “Do all of you want a beer?”
“I don’t know”
“I don’t know”
“Yes”
These logic problems reminds me of those Ted-ED riddles.
(anyone here watched Ted-ED videos? its not just me being weird right?)
I wish they’d post them more than once a year these days…
“Would you possibly want a beer out of three?”
“Yes.”
“There are now only two possible beers left. Would you like to change to another beer?”
“YES!”
The old Monty Beerhall problem!
Oh this is a good one
There 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who count in binary, and those who dont
Surprise trinary!
Ternary?
That’s tertiary to you, pal.
🫦 Tertiary 🫦 https://youtu.be/UpelIgwoUKw?t=246
*crying in IPv4 subnet calculations
…and those who didn’t expect this joke to be in ternary
But he just ordered 6. Rookie mistake.
Looks like 12 to me
… Maybe.
It really depends on, which is the most significant bit… I mean finger.
Most significant digit?
That’s the German 6!
I’m German and I didn’t know we can count to 720 with our hands…
!Explanation: An exclamation mark marks factorial, and 6 factorial is 720.!<
that's six by my count

Binary on fingers really comes into its own when you need to order 1023 beers over heavy background noise. Except when there’s a mix-up and you end up with -1 beer.
This sounds like xkcd alt text
Jokes on you, I already owed one beer!
It’s easy to order 1 beer and end up with 31.
That is actually 5, in Latin.
Reminds me of this:

Pretty sure he’s ordering 6 in this image.
From his perspective, he orders 4.
But if he twitches and puts his fingers closer together, he orders 3.
he’s ordering 7, I think, if you count the thumb.
I don’t see it… Two fingers and thumb make VI.
I actually forgot about Roman numerals for a second.
You mean 7 beers.
It looks like the way to ask for 2 beers would be quite offensive.
Endianness matters quite a lot in this situation
In the UK, a reversed V sign is the equivalent of “the finger”, so this is already plenty offensive to me
Never ask for 2 beers though.
ok sign with middle finger…
my more practical finger binary system would have op show 6 beers. 3 beers would be thumb and forefinger. System is digits forward to enemy have missing fingers be 0, raised 1.
So binary is French? That’s legit 3 in French
Technically, the thumb should be out as well. But yeah, that would totally be read as 3. 🥖🫡
Weird, thumb out is 3 in ASL (a french sign derived language), but thumb in that position reads as a really weird 2 to me
That actually makes sense to me — ASL retains the “thumb = 1” system present in most of Europe.
The programmer is using what I’d call an “Anglo” two. It’s what I grew up with in North America.(see the Inglourious Basterds three finger scene for reference)
An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar…
A quantum mechanic walks into a bar.
He also walks out of the bar.
At the same time.
A temporal traveller walks into a bar.
A temporal traveller walks into a bar.

🖕beer please
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Sir that is more beers than there are particles in the Universe.
Customer is always right
“Are you dislexic?!”
“No I’m just representing the number three in binary.” 😂
Off by one error
Thats what I thought at first
There’s a beer in Australia called XXXX.
The joke is it’s for those who can’t spell BEER, but it’s also for those who can’t count, because if they could, it’d be XL.
