    New Yorker here.

Billionaire Mike Bloomberg cut down on traffic in Manhattan by closing off streets and he supported congestion pricing, which became a thing under ex-cop Mayor Adams.

    De Blasio supported free buses.

The most popular Mayor in New York City history ran on a Fusion Ticket where he was supported by the Communist Party, the socialists, and the Republicans.

And my favorite NYC political quote, from Ed Koch.

“If you agree with me 51% of the time, vote for me. If you agree with me 100% of the time, seek a psychiatrist.”

That was his transportation secretary Janet Sadik-Khan’s idea, give her credit! She was the brains behind all of the Bloomberg safe streets / cycle network stuff. And she did it on a shoestring budget. He gave her a few million bucks for paint and she created hundreds of miles of bike lanes.

The billionaire giveth, and the billionaire taketh away.

Bloomie’s daughter was in charge of an update of the City’s payroll. It ended up costing the taxpayers about a billion and people were indicted.

I remember seeing a video of Zo Boy talking about how he cited that quote in a previous video then was approached by some enthusiastic dude shouting “100% my man, haul me off to the clink!” lol

I only know Ed Koch from that quote “how am I doing?” that psychologist Alfie Kohn calls “deeply neurotic” in its search for validation

Cartoonist fucked up, he should be on a bicycle riding around the barrier instead of smashing through it with a car. Zohran is a cyclist, he doesn’t own a car, he supports safer streets.

Okay, so a cartoonist posted it and it is signed. But there are some relics that are typically only in AI slop (e.g. the top right corner of the green sign)… I don’t know what to think

If vector art was used, or the outlines were placed/adjusted algorithmicly, this is a relatively normal effect caused by a bad path or stray vertices. While it could have been touched up with AI, I’d personally give the benefit of the doubt on this one

I’d have to vote not AI. Just scanned it really close and looks very much like digital art shading and the disconnected lines are a artistic choice.

I can see where he drew the outline the fill and the shading, looks natural. But it’s hard as hell to tell each day.

Think the safest thing artists can do these days is a return to physical media (paint, ink, charcoal). Digital art like this is just so easy for AI to shit out. Not a craft issue, not because it’s easy. But because digital is heavily in it’s toolkit.

Artists don’t have to throw away digital media, just they are adapting with process videos and live streams. A real proof of life sorta deal since AI is holding their craft hostage.
