I’m just going to be straight up honest: I get too stoned sometimes and day dream about random things. It’s not productive things either, usually something like why don’t banana pineapples exist.
ITT: People with legitimate reasons for long showers.
Me over here: Just because I want to. It feels good. I’m paying the bill and I’ll stay in it as long as I’d like. I think, I daydream, I warm up on cold mornings, I cool off after long hot days, I listen to music or sing along while a warm rain dances its way to the drain. I can, and often do, shower and dress in 10 minutes, but I’m an adult damnit and if have the time and the desire I’m gonna hang out and sway gently while the steam fills the shower.
Fifteen year olds: Masturbating. Lots of masturbating.
Genuine question that I feel no obligation to answer, deal with my 30 minute shower.
People who spend less time in there: what are you doing outside the shower that takes so long?
Takes a solid 5 minutes to get the grime off. I have psoriasis so i gotta be attentive. Then another 5-10 minutes of carefully emptying my brain of any thoughts (rotate every 180 seconds) and then the last 10 to just enjoy every cell accepting warmth.
What do I do in there?
Usually cry thinking about repeating another day of hectic work only to come home and eat dinner and go to sleep and repeat it all over again. Forever. While my wages have less and less purchasing power.
You can do that in 5 minutes. Get back to producing.
Personally it gives me peace from the constant everything. The drops pull my attention and it’s all over, so I can relax and just feel it all, not all all. Not sure if that makes sense. It just gives some peace and escape from life and all it’s noise.
But I’ve personally found that the warmth isn’t a thing for me, it works just as well when it’s very middling or even a bit cold. So in my shame I’ve long since switched from warm ones to those around the 25c ballpark, it’s given me even more peace ever since. Warming the water up is the most consuming part.
But then again I’m from a culture with saunas everywhere, in every house, so I don’t really need showers for the warmth anyway, the relaxing and muscle tension relieving I get from sauna. The overall stimulating peace and silence is what my showers are for. In addition to washing and grooming, of course.
I wash my hair everyday, soap from head to toes and my ass crack. I scrub my pits and balls with heavy soap.
Takes me 20 min and I have long hair.
My hair is longer than my shoulders. I like my scalp to get scrubbed, it’s sooo much easier to do that when my hair is only a few inches long. If I just go ham on it I’ll damage it and break it so it takes as much time to wash my head than it does the rest of my obese body
I literally scrub from head to toes.
Feeling something from the scorching hot water relaxing my muscles of my ever existing pain.
It’s a nice break from life.I have OCD. I wash everything too much.
This. “Did I wash X already? Does it feel clean? Am I sure?”
Its warm and I dissociated.
I live in a drought-stricken area, and so I take short showers. If I lived where it wasn’t an issue, I’d be in the 30+ minutes camp.
