I’d read a bit about the browser extension being a scam, but I just watched a video that explains the mechanics of the scam and I’m baffled why PayPal hasn’t been sued.
TLDW: The extension highjacks last-clicked cookies and steals commissions from referral links. It also prevents coupons from being applied at the max value. There should be lawsuits from creators who lost their affiliate commission. There should be a class-action suit from users who were lied to about savings.
If this is documented, as the video shows, why aren’t well-off creators like Mr Beast and Linus Media Group suing? Too much hassle when they’re already swimming in money? Why aren’t lawyers salivating to start a class action suit on behalf of consumers who got ripped off? Is the guy behind this video wrong about the details or is there something not indicated in the video that changes the stakes?
