It wasn’t closed but it was left in a state that wouldn’t allow it to detain tens of thousands of illegal immigrants and other terrorist dissenters without due process.

Well it isn’t big enough to hold tens of thousands of people there, which I guess means anyone sent there will be disappeared processed for deportation faster to make room.

They are already expanding the detention facilities at Gitmo.

America has the largest percenrtage of incarcerated individuals in the world. The average maximum security prison in America is around 800-1500 people. The largest, in Angola, LA, is about 8300.

The new facilty in Gitmo, is expected to hold 30,000, almost 4 times larger than Angola. The clearly expect to hold a LOT of people there. And once they’ve processed as many foreigners as they can, they’ll be looking for their next enemy to round up. Obviously, political opponents and the gay community are on the short list.

It should also be noted that Guantanamo Bay is in Cuba (weird), far from the prying eyes of the media or the courts. How are detainees supposed to meet with their lawyers? They could literally ANYTHING to those detainees, and nobody would know.
