With every lawmaker standing up in quiet observance, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) demanded a spoken prayer.
“Silent prayers get silent results,” she said, leading to jeers from Democrats, with some shouting about a school shooting that also happened Wednesday.
Someone hasn’t read their Bible.
Matthew 6:5-6
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Even the Bible says Boebert should shut her mouth.
Did she just say that thoughts and prayers accomplish nothing?
Silent prayers. Apparently this could have all been prevented if more people prayed out loud.
Gawd needs lots of very loud and public prayer, preferably shouting it in the most performative way at your enemies. Probably some glossolalia and some snake handling for good measure.
