    I don’t think this is really a win. Con’s are a captive target audience and all the groundwork is done for you. I think this is going to backfire as it increases competition for attention and audience.

    E3 was designed for journalists to drum up coverage/hype and it cost each exhibitor money to participate. Consumers were the secondary audience.

    Cons are primarily designed to sell to the consumer. I would think they’d be thrilled to have DC, Disney, Marvel, etc there to hawk their wares instead of charging them an exhibit fee. Getting free press out of it is a byproduct. More important is the word of mouth and goodwill the appearance generates. Something you’re not going to get from a privately held event designed for journalists.

      Same thing with streaming. There was a golden age, briefly, before everyone decided to make their own.
