They hit parked military aircraft. If they are not allowed to hit military targets during war, what are they alllowed to hit?

Ukraine, not Russia, represents an existential threat to humanity.

    Oh fuck off, Scott Ritter.

Any state with working nuclear weapons and delivery systems represent a threat to humanity.
Considering the corruption, misuse and theft, maybe Russia really does not fit that bill.

Your interest in America is fine, but suggesting something unrelated to the conversation as though it were a gotcha, only to be told “do it”, and then take that as vindication is the silliest thing I’ve read this week, and I’ve read what I’ve written.

To reiterate, I understand and agree with your political message, but, like, don’t blurt it out at random, irrelevant times if you want to be taken seriously.

The base houses strategic nuclear bombers, and the reason the bombers were in the open is due to Russian compliance with the START treaty. This isn’t disarming Russia in any way that helps Ukraine, and it’s a massive escalation of the proxy war between NATO and Russia.

Destroying planes that have been, and would otherwise have continued to be used for, launching missiles at Ukraine… that doesn’t help Ukraine?

Brb, gonna shoot at my neighbor. But I’ll put my gun back in a gun safe afterward so no one will do anything about it.

Russia shares a border with Ukraine from which it can use medium-range systems to deliver missiles much more reliably and with fewer risks. Attacking nuclear bombers is a stupid escalation that could see the rest of us engulfed in nuclear fire, you fucking dumbass.

I’ll give you a hypothetical. Your car is set on fire. You loved that car, maintained it daily, polished it like it was your own sexual organ that lacks a clitoris. Once you get over your grief, you remember the 3 identical cars in identical condition that you keep at your other houses. Would you consider moving one of those to the house you’re using?

It might be difficult to move something heavy, like a car, from one location to another but if you really wanted to, you might find a way irl. For this hypothetical, we’ll just say that you’ve figured out how to move the car from one location to another.

One has to have a brain as smooth as a bowling ball to believe that Russia shuttles their strategic nuclear bombers from Siberia and back just to bomb Ukraine. Not to mention that the point of those bombers is for them to be used in case of a nuclear war with the US. If Russia actually did what you’re suggesting then they’d be exposing themselves to a first strike while their nuclear bombers were away. You are completely and utterly clueless, and frankly should be deeply embarrassed by the misogynistic word salad you wrote there. I recommend going back to reddit where you can hang out with individuals who engage at your intellectual level.

I did look up who “Yves Smith” was before posting, and agree that the take seemed odd for someone supposedly neutral and objective. Nevertheless, the content of the article speaks for itself and reads like insidious Russian propaganda masking as geopolitical analysis. So I decided to make my comment anyway.

Then I looked up someone who she quoted and gave a 1/3rd of this article to - Scott Ritter. Gotta be some kind of joke if you believe incorporating his perspective is not pro-Russian shill bullshit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Ritter#Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine

See, I don’t think you’ve ever looked up anything before posting, that’s the issue.

Ok, so Scott Ritter is untrustworthy regarding Ukraine, proven by the fact that he’s not unabashedly pro-Ukraine? Do y’all even hear how religious y’all get about the State Department line? You’re only worth listening to if you’re madly pro-Ukraine, up until the point you’re not, and then you’re a Putin shill.

The west isn’t sending their best.

Did you read the article in this post?

One move is to unleash its missiles and take out “decision centers” as in Kiev and the electrical grid in most if not all of Western Ukraine. Russia now needs to prostrate Ukraine.

It’s not just “not unabashedly pro-Ukraine”, it repeats Russian propaganda word for word. That “decision center” is such a Russian propaganda cliche it hurts, not to mention later “Donald Trump should choose Russia to save the world” from Ritter.

Gotta love .ml critical thinking faculties. I link directly to a Wikipedia article about the views of Scott Ritter (to whom Susan Webber decided to give 1/3rd of the space of her article), where he is literally identified as a contributor to Russia Today and Sputnik, and I’m downvoted for calling a Russian shill a Russian shill. chefs kiss to .ml
