Im going back to old albums and this week, the mood is poignant Tracy Chapmans Fast Car.
I’ve been coming back to a eurobeat mixtape Hyundai put out a few years ago, playing over footage of a Nordschleife endurance race. Just playing the whole video, start-to-finish.
Jessa Stebbins’s music is great on its own, I’ve got a lot of her tracks on my own playlists already, but this arrangement combined with the sounds of revving engines and squealing brakes in between songs, adds another layer to everything.
Yo, that Tiffany Days song is fire.
It is a good mix, I use it for gym
A lot of Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky
I’ll be seeing a Rachmaninoff performance this month by the Atlanta symphony orchestra. Super excited!.
Very nice, which Rach piece?
4th piano concerto.
Sick, envious.
I’ve seen 2nd performed by a student back in Uni, it was very good but, never seen any of them performed by a professional orchestra :( someday
It cost 100 bucks for two tickets. They’re. Not the best seats but they’re ok.
I’m just saying financially it’s not too much.

A playlist I made and have been playing a least once a day this week, no real category or anything just went with what I felt like adding:
Tidal: https://tidal.com/playlist/957863ac-2f13-4035-aac1-97ec1c3073bb
Youtube (one song missing): https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZeNdb-IjuBCN8S4wz2WFHd9O7h_4yNQe
Anyone have any recommendations for sharing playlists easily? I use Tidal but know few others that do, and would rather not use youtube.
Edit: here’s a screenshot and text of the whole list if you want to use something else to make/listen to it: https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/48a1a0ad-e52d-4083-a2ad-46e97e8aa201.jpeg

Also been listening a lot to Franco Battiato: https://youtube.com/@francobattiatovevo
(Sort by popular if you haven’t heard it before, the top songs there are all amazing).Blue Oyster Cult Fire of Unknown Origin. We went to a record fair last week and I picked up a decent copy of it, I had it when I was a lad but lost it in multiple moves, so it’s lovely and nostalgic.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Journey lately. I mean I’ve always liked Journey but they’ve really just been hitting the spot lately.
slept on the floor still dreamt of you - meat computer is such a fun little album
Trying to keep it lighter & instrumental this week after been on a bit of a metal streak
Boards of Canada music has the right to children and campfire headphase, The Field, Tycho, Onra, Monster Rally, Bonobo, Ott, Com Truise
This is my niche comfort genre. If you’re interested in newer artists who share that BoC aural flavor, you should check out PBS73, Midday Static, Cylan, and Ghostwerk.
Thanks for the recs, I haven’t heard of any of them I’ll check them out!
Anamanaguchi - Anyway
Origami Angel - Feeling Not Found
CHVRCHES - Every Open Eye
Bilmuri - AMERICAN MOTOR SPORTS (420CC EDITION)
Origami Angel fucking slaps.
I’m not sure if it’s just by coincidence, however recently I’ve been getting various Lesbian singers recommended to me by YouTube. And they’ve been pretty fire.
Chappell Roan, Girl in Red, Frances Forever (love the Space Girl song), etc.Usually some punk mixed in the playlists, from Crass to Mudrats (been fond of their song “I Hate Rich Cunts”, very catchy). Along this vibe there’s I guess closer to a punky UK Garage fusion with Cuppa Tea by EV.
Ghost
Megadeth
Anthrax
Exodus
Going to see all these bands in the next 7 days
When are you going to see good bands?
Trevor Something - What is real?
Jeff Rosenstock’s cover of Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order
For the last one Jeff Rosenstock is a maniacal bastard because it’s the only cover of Bizarre Love Triangle of it’s kind, he’s been literally offered money to make a full length cover and said no. I get his reasoning, but I hate that the world will never hear what could have been. The rest of the jam session is worth watching as it’s phenominal.
Just discovered Masayuki Suzuki and been going through his discography. My vocal range is practically the same as him so I got a lot of new karaoke songs under belt.
