I don’t think I’m acting like that at all, and I’m wondering how my comment was perceived that way. I was specifically talking about how societal standards affect women.
But you’re right about the double standard when it comes to steroid use. People talk about what a great guy Hugh Jackman supposedly is, but he was never honest about how he abused steroids to achieve his physique for wolverine, and before those shirtless shots he would dehydrate himself. It really bothers me how he was willing to do that to himself but then never talked about it on any sort of media as far as I’m aware. He should’ve been forthcoming about what he had to put himself through to achieve that body, and how unrealistic it is for regular working men to look like that.
To be fair, the fact that we have this information about how he achieved that physique could be because he was honest about it. But as far as I know this information was acquired through other means. Maybe I’m wrong about him.
This is a conversation that needs to be had a lot more often in our society. The patriarchy hurts everyone, not just women.
Men do the same thing for men using steroids?
You’re acting like “they want to look good for themselves” only applies to women by calling out men.
