Trump’s approval ratings have fallen in recent weeks as he approaches the end of the first year of his second term.
A Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) polling average of surveys on Trump’s approval rating shows it sitting at 42 percent, while his disapproval rating currently sits at 55 percent. That’s lower than roughly a month ago, when the average had his approval rating at close to 46 percent and his disapproval rating at around 51 percent.
While Trump said in a recent Truth Social post last weekend that he had received “THE HIGHEST POLL NUMBERS OF MY ‘POLITICAL CAREER,’” experts are saying otherwise, attributing his lower numbers to frustration around high costs and some slippage over the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids the administration has carried out.

If you look at the approval numbers for Nixon even as he jumped on that helicopter just before getting impeached, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. I expect there is some bedrock number in this country that will ALWAYS support a Republican, no matter what he’s caught doing.
The Republicans were fucking outraged about Nixon - not that he broke the law, but that he was caught and that the media spoke about it. So they vowed to create the system we have now…in the interim, a whole lot of people in the “liberal media” took the hint during Iran/Contra which made Whitewater pale in comparison.
The problem is the two party system. There’s no choice - people don’t like losing and once they’ve picked a side, it’s almost impossible for them to change it.
