I’d definitely agree, especially regarding driving. Last summer I was talking with my insurance agent, and wondering why auto insurance rates were going through the roof, to which he responded that accidents are surging. I live in a small town, and haven’t really seen to much of an increase. Then I went down to visit my mom last weekend, and holy shit now I know what they’re talking about. People driving like absolute lunatics, much worse than when I lived down there, especially during rush hour. Another side note, COVID broke people experiencing concerts. It used to be people dancing, moshing, singing along, etc. Now, people just stand there, usually on their phones, and look at you like a nutjob if you dance. I saw David Gilmore at the Hollywood Bowl a few months ago, and aside from people talking straight through the show (which happened even before COVID because people have always sucked), most of the crowd was sitting still in their seats, and the people behind us got mad when we were standing. It was weird. Like I know that Gilmore attracts an older crowd these days, but still, it’s David freaking Gilmore.
That’s kind of where I’m at. I really just want quality in terms of goods, and for theat reason I’m more inclined to shop at an actual store as opposed to online just to get something in my hands to feel out, as well as a good warranty for higher prices items. I’ve been trying to support smaller businesses since most of the stuff at box box stores is generally disposable crap anyway, it just depends on the item. But like the other guy said, I’m not spending a whole lot these days since disposable income isn’t really much of a thing anymore.
It got better.

Sure, let’s make them pay a paltry sum that mostly enriches the lawyers, and everyone else gets a check for a nickel.
No no, it has to tank so everything is stupid cheap to buy up since the average person will now be too poor to do anything.
Eggs? In this economy?!
Which honestly could be the point of all this, crash the economy so the fed is forced to cut rates to near zero and all his billionaire buddies can enjoy the fire sale of the republic on the cheap.
They know exactly what they’re doing, it’s a “purification,” not entirely dissimilar to the same that happened in the 1930s in Germany.
Same with Mouser, Zoro, and Grainger
It really depends, and in my world of electrical parts they want ridiculous shipping prices for a quick turnaround often enough, to the point where it’s either cheaper and faster to drive the hour or so to the closest larger city, or just bite the bullet and use Amazon.
I’m doing my damndest to boycott Amazon outright out of principle. I still have to order work-related items occasionally (small remote town, options are limited for speed of delivery), but other than that they haven’t really been getting much out ofe the past few weeks.
Um, I don’t think Bart was anything close to resembling a DEI hire or even affirmative action. Bart was chosen because he was seen as an almost guaranteed failure as the town would unanimously reject him for being black and decide to leave town, allowing Hedley Lamarr and his goons to scoop up Rock Ridge for pennies on the dollar for their railroad (due to the quicksand they encountered at the very beginning of the movie). They nearly did reject him in the beginning, only to start warming up to him once he showed an effective prowess at dealing with all the curveballs Lamarr threw at him (ie Mongo). They promoted the idea of Bart as a progressive choice on the surface (dare I say, a cabinet post!), but the underlying reason was to play on the citizens of Rock Ridge’s racism and coerce them to leave town.
So I’d say that maybe it was meant to be seen as an inclusive and progressive choice (in modern parlance), but the underlying reason was anything but (in the context of the movie).

“Ok”
“Wait, not like that”
