Just a dude on the internet, looking for content and fun! I love Linux, gaming, writing, reading, music, anime, walks, and occasionally movies too. Chronically ill and anxious too, that makes life quite interesting…At times.

This is why I voted for Kamala, as it would’ve reduced harm for a little while…Long enough to figure out an effective counter. Right now, I am using my voice as best as possible to reduce further harm (with the Big Bad Bill coming into effect soon) I dread losing my insurance and wasting away because untreated it’s a guarantee. Given that I live in a mostly Red State, I could be one of the 17 million affected, or spared because I work part-time… If there are elections in the future, I will be voting with harm reduction in mind every time. Unless America becomes a doomed Fascist Nation which devours itself from within.
Whimsical
That was the whole point of Project 2025, to basically gut the whole Government and make it so that Republicans were in power; for as long as the USA is still a nation. I don’t know how far they are willing to take it as the discontent is growing, and that might be the spark that ignites the barrel of gunpowder. That’s one outcome, the other is Republicans burning this whole nation down with bad decisions and blaming a long dead Biden for it.
Ugh, this makes me totally furious…In a way I can’t describe. I’ve rallied hard against this bill and got others to do so as well, yet here we are getting royally fucked, by those who only care about the rich bastards in this cursed country. It’s going to plan with Project 2025 that everyone was warned about. Time to up the grassroots participation and hopefully get these fuckwads out of office (if there are going to be elections).
Oh trust me, I know the reality of what is going on. This is why I vote in every election: local, state, and national because that is what really matters. Change can only happen if we participate in all the elections possible, which I have certainly done regardless of the outcome. As apathy and losing hope is going to let those corporate and ultra wealthy donor backed candidates win.
I am aware of their lack of majority and inability to filibuster a reconciliation bill. While these actions seem useful, it is merely born of desperation. Regardless, these are at least steps that can be taken to minimize the massive oncoming harm.
There is a reason behind this lack of majority though: they’ve failed to energize voters, they’ve let the cult of personality Trump win over reason. They’ve lost seats because of a lack of attention, and complacency. If they hadn’t, we’d be in a very different situation right now.
The few nominees that had a chance to keep Democrats in control of vital offices, were either sidelined or actively fought against, Zohran Kwame Mamdani is a recent example of a candidate for a Mayoral position that the DNC pit a controversial sex pest Andrew Cuomo against…Even dusting off Bill Clinton to back Andrew, but at least Zohran is still in the running, ATM. I can only hope young candidates like him can help shift the political landscape for the better in the future. If America can endure, at least.
Yeah, they are enabling this hostile takeover of government by not actively fighting against it. Even voting yes for some harmful legislation as the good little accelerationists they are, for donor daddies whispering in their ears.
ROFL Democrats are pretty useless these days…I’ve been calling my representatives, sending letters, and generally being more politically involved to make sure this terrible reconciliation bill dies in a fire. I hope to oust the republicans who represent Kansas too. They are so cursed and incompetent, spineless and weak in the face of donor daddies telling them what to do.
As I am socially anxious; it’s rough to interact with others. However, I will stay strong and try to participate when possible. As, communities do survive if they actually work with one another despite their differences. We can survive Trump’s cursed presidency through working together. The rich fear that shit, this is why the policies Republicans are pushing are so disruptive for the working class. To reduce the odds of them being able to work communally to fight against oligarchs and their mouthpiece Republicans/MAGA sympathizers.
