Conservatism emphasizes self-reliance, which is a principle I stand firmly behind. Self-reliance is not a request—it is a demand, a necessity, the foundation of true power! A people who cannot sustain themselves are a people in chains, and I say—break those chains! Build, create, rise!
from the article:
Those programs “spent tens of billions of dollars in ways that did not serve, (and in some cases even harmed), the core national interests of the United States,” Rubio wrote.
“In consultation with Congress, we intend for the remaining 18% of programs we are keeping … to be administered more effectively under the State Department,” he said.
I’d totally dig that tbh
Jill Stein is pretty cool though. I wouldn’t vote for her, but I think she has some great points to make. It’ll be interesting what the Green Party does now.
I didn’t say you spoke of a rule like that.
What point are you trying to make by telling me the age of my account?
Is there a rule that accounts have to be a certain age before posting? I don’t see that rule anywhere. You do realize that the age of my account is not my age in real life, correct?
What?! I don’t know what you’re implying. Most of my adult life I’ve been a fan of UBI.
You’d think Newsom would be smart enough to recognize that.
So why do you think he’s not recognizing it?
What do you mean? I’ve always been a fan of UBI
I’d be all for UBI
And regardless of your server, the vast vast majority of Lemmy swings left. I wasn’t talking about individual servers, I was talking about the vast majority of Lemmy. That’s my point.
And you do realize that Lemmy has a very very large majority of people who are anti-conservative, right? So when people talk about Lemmy in the scenario I noted, it’s taken to mean the majority. And in this case, I mean the vast vast vast majority.
I remember before the election, there were polls that said Trump was rising. Lemmy said “fake polls!” and “No way! This is propaganda!” And um, look what happened…
EDIT: Then Trump gets elected, Lemmy has shocked face, and can’t understand how it was possible. Because there are a lot of people on Lemmy who refuse to listen to outside information if it doesn’t fit their narrative. And they’re outright hostile to anyone who talks against that narrative as well. So I believe the polls.
Or maybe, just maybe, people aren’t “insane” just beause they have different political opinions than you.
