Part of it is exhaustion. Democrats and the left often see the eventually outcome of policy change, while I find that people leaning right are surprised when policy changes they supported or politicians they supported make changes that affect them. It’s where the leopard are my face meme comes from.

So yes it’s callous and she should be held accountable for what she says but this type of extreme weather event is exactly what the science has been predicting and business as usual had lead to this inevitable outcome.

But this was a natural disaster. Nothing could have prevented it (other than people not living in a flood plain–that’s another conversation though). This exact same thing would have happened, at the exact same time even with Harris in office. It’s a rain storm, and a flood valley, which by the way, has been flooding like this for thousands of years. So we can’t even blame this one on global warming.

Exhaustion or not, implying that 9-year olds deserve to die slowly in a flood in the middle of the night is one of the more hateful things I’ve heard anyone say lately. 9-year olds didn’t vote for any presidents. It’s sick, and I’m glad she faced immediate feedback for it.

She’ll eventually find a good job again. But those children won’t come back. And their families will forever be feeling this loss.

Maybe it’s because most of Lemmy doesn’t have children. I do though. Thinking of how scared those children had to be when all of this was happening, makes me sick to my stomach.

And I don’t get what Lemmy is so “exhausted” about. The average Lemmy commenter makes way more than the average person in the US. You all bitch about rich people, while making 80 to 100K a year. Newsflash: that’s actually rich.

Your very first sentences is just wrong and that’s at is where the exhaustion begins.

I have lived through 5 “once” in a lifetime disasters and seen hundreds in my lifetime.

I don’t have much love or trust for CNN but Bill Nye has spent his life trying to educate and speak truth.

You are focusing on the wrong aspects and ignoring the real threat to your and my kids which is global warming and climate change.

We have to stop burning the world and we have to stop now. More people are going to die and it will keep happening more often. It will also eventually happen to you and people you care about. I hope you recognize the risk and take action before then so you also won’t have the leopard eat your face.
