My friend, hunting is a thing. Some people hunt for their food, so “no matter the household” is just hyperbole. Also, instructing children on the proper use of and the danger of weapons is how you reduce accidental gun death by children in a home with weapons.

*in a healthy household, teaching a child of that age to fire a .22LR long gun at the range is not uncommon or unreasonable. It’s traditional. I learned to fire them in summer camp I think at 10 or 11 (granted it was like 1980 or so.)

That’s not what the commenter did at all. What he said is that the current social structure for kids is FUCKED and maybe we should be doing something about that. They have no connections anymore. School is the worst because all of the things schools had in previous generations are gone due to budget cuts and teachers who can’t afford to do anything but the bare minimum. And even there, the quality of teachers has gone down since the pay is so low. They’re not supported by the school board, because those people just want to bring back prayer in school or what the fuck ever pet HOA Karen project they got themselves elected for. Oh and now there’s cops in every school terrorizing any child that acts out, regardless if it’s maybe and autistic tic or just god forbid, a Bad Day. Living with all of this, being inundated with insanity online from all over the world, having no clue how they’re going to navigate the psychosis that is living in the USA in this era, why not go out in a blaze of glory? Some of those shooters had their names remembered. Especially by this particular 13 year old who obsessed over said school shooters. It could be something to aspire to. Help take down this sick, cancer-ridden mockery of a modern society.

I blame the mother. How the fuck do you let your 13 year old child have access to A gun, let alone that arsenal? Maybe a BB gun, or a locked up .22LR long gun to take to the range with a youth shooting group. This was a child that was raised by the Internet, and not parents.

In a nutshell, the Fed dropped the gold standard. Once money didn’t need to be backed by gold there was no incentive to keep its value relative to the market. If an ounce of gold bought say… a ton of steel (it’s worth a bit more than that, but let’s go with it), then the equivalent amount of dollars would also be worth that same ton of steel, regardless of other market pressures. Nixon unpinned the value of the dollar from the value of gold in 1971 instead allowing it to have market value relative to, well, whatever. The value of the USD immediately plummeted and never recovered.

Gold isn’t any particularly good thing to base your currency on and the value of the dollar vs an ounce of gold reduced over the decades, but unpinning it completely but still keeping the fractional reserve system of finance doomed the country to endless inflation and national debt. All of a sudden the Federal Reserve banks didn’t have to store tons and tons of gold to back the dollar, and they became free to lend the US government as much money as it asked for. Because the United States Treasury may print the money, but we borrow it from the Federal Reserve with interest. That’s nothing new, but at least pinning the value to gold limited how much we could borrow.

OK that was a lot more than I meant to say but I hope it makes sense. Once all that money flooded the market, the capitalists were allowed to go crazy and milk the nation and the proletariat for all we’re worth. That and now the United States Dollar is just yet another open market commodity. Buy low, sell high. bleed the value in the process.

Not understanding the law does not make you immune to it. This judge should be disbarred but will not see any action against her at all, because America is no longer a nation of laws. Unless you’re opposed to the fascism.

Also that quote is simply repulsive. Because the defendants were stupider than the prosecution made them out to be, they didn’t commit the crime? What the actual fuck. The prosecution needs to appeal. But… they probably won’t. The courts are so stacked at this point, why even bother.

For the first few hundred years of the western hemisphere, people literally went into the woods with some provisions and tools, and many of them survived and flourished. Sure plenty died but look at the result. The point is that now you can’t do that because someone owns all the land. Even the millions of hectares laying unused - and I don’t just mean parks and monuments. There are huge, enormous swaths of land laying unused and held by private owners, corporations, and trusts, because at one point hundreds of years ago, someone climbed a hill, looked at landmarks and decreed, “this land is mine” and went to the closest town to stake their claim. Even if there was land, you still need to buy said tools and provisions, and it’ll cost you now.

One doesn’t need an education to work in the fields.
