I like how they’ve messed around with the releases so much that they’ve gone from seasons/chapters/parts/volumes. It’s amazing how they can’t seem to just finish this show.

I could have sworn they said season 4 was going to be the end at some point.

the longer you drag out the realizes the more you capitalize on merchansizing and popularity.

        it’s about making money.

once the show is ‘over’ there is a massive drop off in revenue. people generally are more interested in active shows than old ones.

That’s fair, on the other hand it’s only made me dislike the show more and made me more wary of Netflix shows.

But then people will binge it in one go and realise there’s nothing else worth watching and unsubscribe again. Think of the shareholders!

Love the show. But I feel like watching some 20 year old adults play kids in the 10th grade (assuming since season 4 is 9th grade) is just tough to swallow. Like you have to forget that these are high schoolers and just enjoy it for what it is. The charm of them being kids isn’t really working. Which to me was a huge pull to the original story…that started 9 years ago.

Normally I dont watch TV shows but dam I have such a soft spot for stranger things. I’m definitely watching again from season 1.

eh. the plot is basically the same every season. it’s pretty boring after the first season.

the only thing i liked from the later season was the soviet stuff.

Season 3 sucks but the others are worth watching, you basically get recapped enough at the start of S4 to skip 3.

People will disagree but for me no other seasons have reached the heights of the first one. The others are fun to watch but the mystery of season 1 is great and this feeling never returns to the show.

because the plot is the same every season. no new mysteries are really unvealed or anything. it’s just yet another monster in the upside down.

i wish they had done more with the soviet stuff

I feel that way too. The show continues to be good but the first season has its own magic.

Season 2 is a bit of a “sophomore slump”, IMO.

Seasons 3 & 4 are much better comparatively, though probably not as good as S1 - S4 definitely comes close, and does a great job of raising the stakes ahead of the S5 conclusion.

I’ve enjoyed them all. To be fair though, I grew up in the '80s so I’m sure the series hits me differently than it does those who grew up in the '90s and '00s.
