The Trump administration has drafted a memo to Congress outlining its intent to end nearly all federal funding for public media, which includes NPR and PBS, according to a White House official who spoke to NPR.

The memo, which the administration plans to send to Congress when it reconvenes from recess on April 28, will open a 45-day window in which the House and Senate can either approve the rescission or allow the money to be restored.

The official, who spoke to NPR on condition of anonymity, confirmed the existence of the draft.

Listen, Trump’s finally going to be running the US like a business. So he’s going to deliver as little as possible while charging as much as possible.

And then… What is that money going to get used for, exactly?

That’s the fucked up part in all of this. A government is much closer to something like a non-profit than it is to a business. Because, like, when you’re a government and have a monetary surplus, what do you do with it? Of course you just wanna spend it!

I know the actual answer is “to give to the billionaires because apparently having enough money for 2000 uber-wealthy lifetimes is not enough” but you know

I don’t think even he quite knows what he wants to do with it. Just “make America great” which mostly seems to involve making him seem important.

        Profits, of course.

Oh, for you? No, silly, for the hard-working billionaires who created all those great jobs for you to do!
