You are right, I cannot find the source I originally made my claim on. I should have linked it when I came across it at the time. It was a news report from a local news station. I cannot find a non-illegal arrest, but I did find the equivalent to non-criminal arrests
I hate to start a conspiracy theory, but I’m not finding half of the info that I was able to find just last week. I wonder how heavy these reports, coming out, are being monitored and regulated?
Regardless, I have removed my comment because I also respect facts and debate.
Illegal immigrants are not criminals. Entering the country illegally is a civil violation, not a criminal violation. That 3% from Chicago had actual criminal records that had nothing to do with their immigration status.
Undocumented, being here longer than your stay is on the level of a traffic violation. These people who have been here need to be able to get citizenship a lot easier than it’s required. We’re a massive country and we’re a melting pot for a reason.

Brave of you to assume any of them can read.
As hard as it is, try and befriend ice rats. It makes it easier to nonchalantly leave the gas on their stove on before leaving their house

Even worse in Chicago. Less than 3% had criminal records.

Did I suggest otherwise?
Saying it’s even worse does imo, since there’s no shared statistic as the original 25% was about illegal immigrants rather than criminal records.
This was my thinking. The way they responded to that comment made it seem like they were equating criminal records and immigration status.
