I’ve got a 10 hour plane ride next week, and I’ll be hanging round at the airport a lot. Any recommendations for an engaging but not too taxing drama?

Please nothing cliché or tacky eg suits, CSI etc

    Depending on your tastes…

Barry a dark comedy/drama about a depressed hitman who wants to quit the business and become an actor.

Severance a drama about workers whose work and life memories are cut off from each other.

Fleabag a dark comedy drama about a young woman trying to survive the world with a failing business and difficult family relationships.

Shrinking a comedy/drama where a therapist’s life is falling apart. Will a new patient (and his friends and neighbors) help him break his self destructive cycle?

The Pit a drama in real-time about an ER over the course of a shift.

I tend to watch shows that are at least a bit comedic, as these days are too dark… I’ll add to this list if anything else pops into my mind.

Schitts Creek is a great comedy with some heart warming drama elements to it. It’s a great feel good show.

Might be good as a break in between other things even if you don’t fill the 10 hours with it.

Taskmaster! (particularly the original UK version)

Comedians are invited on for a ten episode run to perform challenges “tasks” and scored by a gruff Taskmaster.

It’s fantastic, and if you like it there are 19 more serieses and some good international versions too.

S19 was one of my favorites. S20 is just ending now.

One that is very good but not as widely known as I’d expect is The Americans from 2013.

One show I don’t see mentioned a lot is Dark Matter, I really enjoyed that, although I don’t think the runtime will fill the full 10h.

Xena could be really good for this if you’re into action-flavored drama. It’s got fun fights, can be cheesy in the best way, and has really great relationships that feel lived-in, especially as the show goes on. Some episodes are real tear-jerkers and others are super lighthearted.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. 3 extended tv movies that should run somewhere near 8 or 9 hours.

That Task show with Mark Ruffalo was pretty good.

Animes are always great on plane rides too. Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Golden Kamuy. All bangers

The airport segments of traveling long distance are the worst. Especially if you also have a connecting flight somewhere along the way.

If I was taking my own stuff to watch, my go to would probably be comic book shit lol. Watchmen is a pretty good one that’s a relatively short one season show. Although pretty intense.

Not too sure of many other short and sweet series though. Apart from maybe new(ish) stuff that I’m gonna assume you’ve watched, like Fallout or Wednesday or whatever. What about Arcane? Haven’t played the game is based on but I thought it was good, and also not 5 seasons long so far.

Movies are always an option too. These days they seem to be averaging at 2 hours or more. Good time filler without needing further investment.
