During WW2, low education and food standards led to better school curriculums and free lunches for the war machine. Let’s hope he’s stupid enough to not do this.
Its almost like people realize a war is coming and don’t want to fight it.
That means the people who want to join the air force to get enough hours to qualify as a pilot likely are smart enough to realize what a bad idea that is. Same with the “free college” crowd (which is why marketing mostly pushes it more as “free trade school” these days).
So you have the people who are too dumb even for the infantry and need to go through special programs where they get told what to put on the entrance exams. Which ALSO means they are less likely to be smart enough to remember how to field strip their gun (without a negligent discharge or three in the process) or don’t realize the reason they keep getting told drug tests are a thing is that they should stop smoking for long enough to piss clean.
Just also understand that the idea that the military would refuse to attack Americans or Canadians (because they have a great track record of standing up to trump…) goes out the window. Because it is our dumbest and our most desperate who are “serving”.
Also, recruiters are more and more desperate and have no problem saying complete and utter bullshit during recruiting and relying on people to not read their contracts. So if your contract that “guaranteed you would become a navy seal if you join the army” isn’t giving you what you want… why wouldn’t you just flip the bird and leave?
Also, military veterans generally don’t recommend signing up anymore. We’ve also had something like 40+ years of live combat and other reporting for the military, so people know what the fuck they would actually be signing up for.
It would be such a great thing, when those imperialistic bigots start a war and just nobody shows up, because nobody wants to fight for their cause (pumping up their wallet)
Sadly, I’m afraid, too many people will fall for pseudo ideological bullshit and when a country gets attacked, obviously many people will want to defend it
But one can dream…
How many are coming to the realization that a major purpose of our armed forces is to protect billionaires wealth, and very little about “freedom” and protection for the general citizen? Actually, let’s hope he doesn’t try to bring back the military draft so he can force people to fight wars he fucking starts. Because he’s looking to start a whole lot of them down the road.
It’s a huge reflection to the time people didn’t want to fight the wars Bush started, because the direction has been lost. We were losing lives in a war that had no directive. Whatever dumbfuck Trump does, not only will our army be horribly mislead, but they’ll be horribly misinformed too and we’ll lose even more lives because this dipshit will send anyone to fight those who he don’t like, probably including American citizens who criticize him.
