You take care to walk a fine line to keep it cohesive and relatable. You invest time and effort to bring it to life on the table. You even spend hours play testing the rules and stats you wrote, with an eye on keeping things balanced. “Nah man, let’s just play 40k as is, I mean your stuff seems weird”.
