Proton Mail will introduce Category views and Proton Drive will introduce Team Drives. See what other new features Proton has planned for the next several months.
They bought StandardNotes some time ago, and they introduced Docs from them. But instead of adding Spreadsheets, which would make them an actual alternative to Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, they are doing basically cosmetic changes on existing stuff nobody asked for.
I don’t see anything on here that really improves the products I’m using (email, calendar, drive) in any substantial way. I also see a lot of wasted resources as far as I’m concerned (new VPN protocol?! Anything Lumo AI).
Couple this with the organization’s politics and I am very keen on leaving for piecemeal solutions. Proton went from feeling like the good guys trying to do good, to tech bros using good policies as a way to become richer tech bros. I just don’t want to support that if there’s an equivalent or better solution being run by good (or undecided/unknown) people.
