    That’s crazy but also did everyone read the article? If I understand correctly most people are only paying about $7000 total which is still stupid but not as click bait

      Doesn’t matter if you pay the full $27k or if you pay $5 and the employer pays $26,995, either way it’s $27k in your benefit package. Just because it doesn’t pass through your pocket first doesn’t mean it’s not your money that you earned.

      I concede that you would not get a $27k raise if your employer didn’t have to cover insurance. However, there would be a whole lot of extra money allocated to compensation packages. Well, really the same amount of money, but vastly reduced costs.

        So many people fail to remember this simple fact. Your benefits are just as much as part of your compensation as a salary is. People act like its a gift you are given by your employer but we all know how naive that would be.

        I know for a fact that that money would go straight to the C suite so idgaf if my employer pays $27k or $50k. In fact if it was more expensive and the big dogs take pay cuts maybe more people will get mad about it since only billionaires get to have any influence over anything anyway
