hey so I’m feeling really strange about posting this because I for some reason have the idea in my head that if I share things I create and put them out there then I’m being annoying and forcing it on people so I’m just going to try to type this quick and hit send
I put together a huge library of ~13000-ish vintage games on over 40 different systems, and playing them at random. I’m not the best gamer, but I’m good enough (I’m in my 30s so I’ve at least played my fair share), to get a taste of the games and check them out. I really get into looking at all the forgotten pixel art these games contain and just being blown away by how many cool experiences that have been forgotten. I stream retro games at least once a week, so if something like this sounds interesting to you or anyone you know, please check me out! i’m not in it to make money i’ll never beg for donations or anything like that, i am a content old fart who just wants to hang out and game.
thanks!
oh ya if youtube is more your style i dual stream there and keep my vod archive @crustyoldhuman cheers
edit: i can’t figure out how to make my post link direct to my twitch and post my thumbnail for the retro streams, if my post is wrong please delete it and i’ll try again i am just confused about this web form. i tried to delete my mistake posts myself but they still appear to be there, i never use lemmy on the web and am very confused vs the Voyager app
Out of curiosity, are you really choosing games randomly? You must end up often on games that nobody remembers!
Regarding your edit, you can’t do both. None of the lemmy UIs or apps make it clear, but it’s URL or image, image takes priority, and then you can put whetever you want in the body text of the post.
No clue why it’s not been made clear in any of the web uis or apps. I spend too much time here and see it multiple times a day.
About the edit at the bottom, unsure what you tried, but on Lemmy instances when creating posts, I’d presume you’d need to add the link in the URL field, and the image in the Image field.

This is a common mistake that and it’s dumb that none of the UIs (or apparently any of the apps) make clear, but a post can only have an image or a link as its main thing and image takes priority, losing the link. They’re mutually exclusive.
You can do whatever you want in the body text, having multiple images and links etc, but only one or the other for the “main post item”.
OP needs to just put the link in the body text.
