Lemmy is populated by far left Americans who were banned from Reddit for extremism. Strict ideological conformity is required or you’ll get actual death threats. Don’t go there unless you want violent communist revolution and hate discussing interesting ideas.
I know, that’s why I said it’s not all black and white. authoritarianism happens when a small group of people hold a lot of power, which can happen regardless of economic system, but it is tied to extremism and no extreme is good. We only got the right to protest after the fall of communism.
