I find OP’s criticism self-defeating because they too “do nothing IRL” (except for posting weird self-defeating memes).

But there is one aspect I find increasingly worrysome: given Americas infamous lack of gun regulation, and its people’s infatuation with guns (generally speaking, sorry), plus the administration’s increasing reliance on armed goons, how will active resistance escalate?

That is something I have considered as well. I actually do beleive it may escalate into full-out violent combat between the fasciast administration and the citizens within a few years. Not exactly looking forward to that, but it also would be like a release valve on a overpressurized pressure-cooker. That is to say, it may just ‘need’ to happen.

I don’t see a peaceful transition of power on the USA’s horizon. And I don’t mean this as fancy doomerism. I also don’t see this brand of fascism succeeding - except in destroying the country. Again, no hyperbole. Why do you think they installed troops in Washington DC and other blue districts.

      It would escalate badly.

The US population doing violent resistance proposition right now. Non-violent resistance, by its turn, looks like a low-stakes move with high odds.

But hey, I’m also just another foreigner that won’t take part in anything they do, so I don’t really know anything. I’m just waiting for the non-violent protest tomorrow in my own country, against our own problems.
