Ya sadly racism and xenophobia has existed for a long time. It’s nothing new, honestly thought some places were moving forward from it but it seems we are going backwards again
In his case, that was not racism nor xenophobia.
In 1925, in Rome there were Black Shirts, the OG Fascists and that’s what the bullies used against him at the time, in the same way bullies did with his girl.
Later in his life, he moved to Tucson, and the only people he could genuinely make friends with were the Apache and the Hopi, whom he depicted in his paintings, since his lab in the university, where he researched and teached, was sacked during his absence by agents.
I never believed in the civically advanced US, given the genocidal and violent history and culture.
Seems like they are doing their best to prove me right.
