      I wonder if their hate is just a side effect of wanting to be superior over others. And that’s what drives their base actions.

        More or less, yes. It’s the satisfaction that comes from power.

        The main ingredients of fascism are fear (urgency) and a desire to reclaim a power once held, like in a birthright sense. A result of this is that the power they hold now is a result of the fear they’ve fostered, which means they quite literally cannot survive people becoming unafraid. There must always be a group of people to hate, even amongst each other, or the kingdom they’ve built vanishes.
