Mast — a former soldier for the Israel Defense Forces who once stated that babies were “not innocent Palestinian civilians” —

TFW you increasingly can’t distinguish between cartoon levels of villain and actual terrifying psychopath

“I wonder if this guy looks exactly like I imagine?”

I can’t wait to read the legal gymnastics the SCOTUS is going to barf out to OK this!

“You see the 1st amendment only protects the party in power…”

“If that speech makes the leader of the country sad, then it cannot be protected by the Constitution he’s sworn to uphold!”

“Because of this precedent we’re choosing to interpret completely opposite to its history being taught in law schools, the 1st amendment only protects registered Republicans. But, and this is important, this isn’t setting precedent. This is a one-off. You know, legal no backsies!”

In reality, they’ll probably just refuse to take it up if the most recent federal appeal comes down the “right” way. Because they’re cowards. Like most of the government.

Small government in action. Controlling your word and actions.

Man I remember a time when Republicans were actually conservative and not fascist Nazi’s.

Lots of baby steps in this direction, which started when Reagan sought to win the Christian Right.

The more this government pushes to abandon freedoms, suppress rights, flout laws, abuse citizens, gaslight and lie, undermine the vote, and shove folks further and further toward an economic ledge, the more they encourage violence toward those in power. If the government is abandoning the rule of law, the citizens must abandon it as well. That is the only way fascism has ever been put down in the past.

The time to disobey is far behind us. If you aren’t causing a ruckus in your local community you aren’t doing enough.

Seems like a laughably unconstitutional law but this supreme court will probably let it fly if passed.

This article gives no information about the status of this bill, or even the number for the bill so you can look it up yourself.

Covering bills like this at the point of introduction is pure fearmongering. Anyone in the legislature can introduce a bill. Most bills go nowhere. Unless it leaves committee or gets co-sponsors, it’s not really being considered at all.

If something happens with this make sure to pay attention. But covering this at this point is just trying to make you afraid to get a click.

Yes, wait until “something happens”. That’ll certainly leave enough time to counter the avalanche of bullshit that rides the apparent complicity of silence on the matter as it built up momentum.

      Genius. 🖕🏻
