Same. I’ve long said that if they’re take my social security, I’m gone. I have a small list of places I would leave the US for.
I’m actually not OK with this, TBH. First, it very much better than bending the knee, but if they’re going to impose tariffs, they need to be on the country. Plenty of democrats in those red states and plenty of republicans in blue states either will or won’t “get what they voted for.” In the end, we all should pay for this travesty.
I dare someone to explain her dumbass
I mean, she is blonde.
Yes.
worked on Trump’s pandemic response
Seems like she might be good at keeping shit off of her. That, or she’s failing upwards. I guess we’ll find out!
You forgot the “J.” DOGE will be efficiencizing you shortly…
Completely true. Here’s a guy who’s currently bashing the North American trade agreement that was signed under his own first administration. Simply can’t be trusted to sign a car rental contract, let alone an international agreement.
As an American, I hope more countries choose this path. Trump, and a large number of Americans need to understand that “American exceptionalism” only matters to (some) Americans. A community of nations means no one country gets to dictate to all the others. Eventually that isolationism some of my country clamor for will come to feel pretty lonely as fewer and fewer countries put up with our BS.
All the boycotts of US goods that I’m seeing can’t be helping, either.
Adding that all the older Stephen King books are worth the read. 11.23.63 was the last one I read, and I really enjoyed it.
If you’re into science fiction, check out the Wool/Shift/Dust trilogy by Hugh Howey. I also enjoyed the Lattice trilogy by Erik Hanberg. You’ve probably already seen some movies based on Robert Heinlein books. GS Jensen also has a bunch of fun series. Finally, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is what got me into sci-fi as a wee one.
Alternatively, head over to a book community, or the books community on BlueSky is pretty active. Tell them some things you really like and ask for suggestions. If you liked a movie or TV show based on a book, there’s a very good chance the book was a bit different and considerably more in depth.
Thought I spelled it out pretty clearly: tariffs on the entirety of the US instead of just “red states.”
