They’re just going to move up a timetable on existing plans. Fascism requires them to disarm the populace at some point. An armed populace is a threat to any regime’s existence. In a democracy that’s not a problem, but it is for totalitarians.
A faster timeline means more people realizing they’re fucked and the fascist regime will eventually get to them.
