A man selling flowers near Curie Metropolitan High School was among those arrested Sunday, according to Any Huamani, an organizer with Brighton Park Neighborhood Council who helps monitor ICE activity and supports undocumented immigrants.
“It’s obvious that operations have begun in Chicago,” Huamani said at a news conference Monday. “And it’s even more obvious that they are going to be targeting our communities here in the Southwest Side.
“We’re afraid. Our neighbors are afraid.”

Because the slave states wanted a federal government capable of doing what Trump is doing right now.
We need to understand history, because it’s not just rhyming. trump is just straight up plagiarizing history and hoping he gets the result he wants: a civil war.

You could theoretically become a billionaire without a history of unethical behavior, assuming that selling your company isn’t included in unethical behavior.
This is what always gets me; it was the north that wanted states rights not the south. The south wanted to violate the sovereignty of northern states. This was also happening at a time when laws were being challenged in the Supreme Court that freed black people within state borders leading to a ruling that southern states laws regarding slaves preempted northern laws freeing them.

That depends. Do the gangs making up the majority of chicago’s crime care about immigrants? It always seems like immigrants would make good targets for organized crime the same way that they do for corporations. The implication of them just letting agents know about your immigration status if you step out of line means they have a large threat at any time.
