I have a particularly hardline stance on zombie fiction. Either they are dead, but animated, or alive. No crossing the line. Everything has to be coherent and on one side of the line. Walking dead fails this from the jump.
I had read the comic books so I was very excited about it, until I found out to be a meandering sanitized version of the story. Anything cool from the comic ended up sucking in the show. Any time they had the balls to kill off a main character, a carbon copy would replace them, sometimes in the very same episode!
