And the Republicans will respond “we’re using a poorly disciplined unregulated police force to bring about fascism.”

The Democrats will then be like “we tried everything, nothing can be done.”

I abhor republicans under trump but I am disappointed in the dems for all of their waffling and lack of cohesion.

“Here in the Pacific north-west, wildfires can [burn] and have burned entire towns to the ground. We count on our brave firefighters, who put their lives on the line, to keep our communities safe – this new Republican policy to detain firefighters on the job is as immoral as it is dangerous,” said Senator Patty Murray, who has represented Washington in the US Senate since 1993.

“What’s next? Will Trump start detaining immigrant service members? Or will he just maintain his current policy of deporting Purple Heart veterans?”

Traditionally fascists have turned against those who have helped them seize power. I would assume that eventually Trump will start detaining even ICE. If they were okay with a coup, they might be okay with another one and are therefore enemies of the state.

Oh cool. Democrats are talking like they aren’t going to accept the very first answer without question and immediately give up forever again.

Leftist here who voted a totally dem ballot. No clue what any of steins policies are, never voted third party. Doesn’t mean I support neolib dems, it’s just the fascist lite option US peasants are given and might slightly delay further fascism as long as the right oligarchs pay the libs to do so.

I’m a leftist because instead of burying my head in the sand like neolib dems, I look at functional countries who aren’t afraid of limiting capitalism and leaning into socialism (inb4 hurrhurr China Russia, fuck all authoritarian regimes) and I see that they fucking work and that those people aren’t struggling daily in a dystopian hellhole.

The fact that dems fight so hard to “do it the US way” just like MAGA, rather than looking at those countries and begging for help on how to do what they do should tell you what they really support

Do you need the part repeated where I said I didn’t vote for her and don’t care about her policies?

Guess the libs didn’t get paid enough to teach you to read 🤷

You don’t have to be a fan of Jill Stein or even third party politics to recognize how poorly the Democratic establishment has squared up against this administration. It’s certainly something worth addressing for up-coming primaries if we want candidates who can pull back third party voters. Shoving it under the rug isn’t going to make it go away, and will ultimately lead to more third party voters.

The point is that there isn’t a third party. Jill Stein is a Russian agent. She’s paid to take votes away from Democrats, so that Republicans can win.

A Multi-party system is superior. I would like viable options as well. However, ZERO third parties in the USA are genuine. None of them. They’re all ruses, fakes, lies, plots…

Interesting point, but what on earth is it doing here? This post and the comment you replied to have fuck all to do with third parties. Is this going to just be the standard boiler plate reply to every criticism of the Democrats? “Yeah but Jill Stein…”

The usual centrist assumption is that anyone who doesn’t love everything corpodems do is a trumpist. This is a very slight improvement.

Trying to distract from their party’s continued support for arming Israel and continued non-support of Mamdani, but I guess I’d rather see them pretending to do this than completely going along with the Trump administration

Oh theyre doing that too. They voted against Trump’s impeachment. They voted for Trump’s government spending bill that retroactively made his illegal executive orders and DOGE nonsense legal. They returned to Texas voluntarily to allow them to redistrict the state and likely gain several House seats in the next election. They voted with Republicans to pass the TAKE IT DOWN Act, etc, etc. There is only one party running the government and that’s the party of the rich and powerful and they all belong to it.
