    That’s how the game is supposed to work. It’s the point of it.

    It was made during the first gilded age when wealth inequality was at its highest levels (until now), and was literally an example of how capitalism is bad and prices people out of even being able to afford a cheap place to rent, and when they can’t pay rent, they go to jail.

    It is not a happy game, and to this day I don’t understand why people assume it’s a happy go lucky kids game (at least that was the impression I was given when I was introduced to the game)

      Boomers loved it because there was still property left to scoop up. Now we are literally playing a full board after some boomer bankrupted all the other players and bought everything.

        Agreed, but it’s not “some boomer”, it’s giant corporations. Sure, some boomers are profiting handsomely off their rentals/lake houses/AirBNBs/etc. But that individual greed will never match the boards of directors full of the same types of people, all enriching themselves on a giant scale by profiteering off our need to have shelter.
