At 33 now and realizing I was never a “gamer”. I just play MMO RPGs religiously. Had the gtx970 from release until 2022 when i got a 3080. It was worth it to upgrade the sim rig to stable VR frame rates but even just 3 years later msfs2024 stutters. Still mega worth the upgrade - even if my wow/ff xiv/aion/l2 run at infinity frames per second on an old thinkpad
