Plus European Liberals are too proud (putting it nicely) to associate positively with an ‚autocratic‘ power such as the PRC. They’ve spent so long shitting on non-liberal projects that it becomes unthinkable to imagine any productive partnership with them that doesn’t involve either condemnation or confrontation.
