I watched the first season of Mademoiselle Holmes - so fun, can’t wait for season 2 to get exported. Finished season 3 of Munch - I’m going to stop there and not watch the last 2 seasons because they kill off one of my fave characters in season 4. The good thing is that season 3 is a good place to stop watching. Promethea aka Prométhée (2022) - I don’t want to give away anything but I really liked the way this show went.

Fallout - Great show, maintains the whimsical theme of the games. The writing is good.

PLUR1BUS - Very well written plot and dialogue. It’s from the same creators of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

My Father in law passed away last year and the day after the funeral I started a rewatch of The Good Place. A few days later I got to ‘a wave on the ocean’ and bawled like a baby.

I have finished Dark it was wonderful series, although third season could use some additional episodes. In addition to meticulously crafted complex story, this show has some amazing casting choices.

Ohh I really liked Station 11. It’s got some issues (especially towards the end) but was a really good watch despite that.

Started Star trek starfleet academy. It’s alright for a school based drama that takes place in the star trek universe. Watchable.

Watching season 2 of the BBC adaptation of The Tripods from 1984. So far, not as goods as the first season. Also it’s not following the books very closely this season, so that’s probably why. Honestly surprised this hasn’t been remade yet.

I’ve been rewatching The X-Files. I just finished the ‘Tempus Fugit’/‘Max’ two parter. It is one of my favorite non-comedy episodes. It is wonderful in having a conspiracy within a conspiracy, intersecting character motivations, and dead serious stakes and presentation. It works as a mytharc, sequel to a stand alone episode, or just a stand alone story on its own depending on how you want to watch it.

    The visuals are honestly haunting.

I’ve started rewatching Forever Knight (1992). I love these syndicated 90’s shows and this one has absolutely everything you need to know in the title alone. He’s a vampire, so he lives Forever, he was a 13th century Knight, being a vampire he can only come out at Night (pun!) so his life is Forever in Night, and he’s now a 20th century cop, so arguably he will Forever be a Knight. This is absolutely a “book you can judge by its cover”, it’s exactly what you expect it to be, and it’s the single greatest show title in the history of syndicated TV.

If the Kurtzman era ever ends, it would be great to see a new crew having to take the station out of mothballs when some interstellar crisis erupts.

Just finished bates motel. I have mentioned it before because its like 5 seasons and I don’t watch media often enough to get through these things fast. I really loved it to start and like it overall but I was sorta hoping for a different direction with the finale. What they had was good but I got myself worked up about where it could go and was a bit disapointed it did not. I kinda wonder what they planned from the start and if they pushed it to more seasons because maybe it was doing well. Again though it is very good. Its a kind of nerd type obsession (not that I nerd out on psycho that much) that was a bit of a letdown. If I could let go of things and just enjoy it for what it was then it is very high in series I have watched and I would recommend it to anyone. Its not even in my genere being more a scifi/fantasy person so it did not get any extra points for being in my type of things. It was just done very well for what it was.

    Two ongoing shows:

The Pitt. I think e4 drops today so I will be checking it out tonight. It is just so good.

Fallout. I have seen two episodes of this season and I am really enjoying it.

A new one I have started this week.

Wayward. Tony Collette is just excellent in everything she does and she continues that in this show. It is an interesting setup, it is about a residential teenager treatment center located in a New England town. Clearly there is some nefarious stuff going on.

    Documentaries I have check out:

    The Takedown: American Aryans

This is meh. It is very much copganda and I dumped it in the third episode. The focus is on a prison gang in Texas called The Aryan Brotherhood.

The gang is the bag of horrors and grimey shit one would expect from anyone who would call themselves that. The most remarkable thing about the show and gang is the organizational structure.

The gang is lead by five guys with the title General and they divide the state into regions. Each General has subordinate majors and lieutenants. When I dumped the show all the Generals except one was in prison and the fifth was about to sent to prison for a murder.

Tony Collette is just excellent in everything she does - can’t agree more. She is one of the best of a generation and seems pretty low key with it. Still love an occasional view of Murial.
