British companies reported that AI had resulted in net job losses over the past 12 months, down 8% – the highest rate among other leading economies including the US, Japan, Germany and Australia, according to a study by the investment bank Morgan Stanley.

The research, which was shared with Bloomberg, surveyed companies using AI for at least a year across five industries: consumer staples and retail, real estate, transport, healthcare equipment and cars.

I think it’s more that the UK has an awful lot of email jobs, professional services, that can be very easily automated.

At least they’ll get a taste of how the lower classes get fucked for once

this was my friend’s take. fuck the middle class.

I suspect that it’ll still fuck over the working class as the middle class just fire them / stop hiring and move down as their jobs are automated out. Having a job becomes the new middle class. Being unemployed is the working class norm.

always look on the bright side eh? that’s me /s
