I just watched an episode of “Timeless” about Mary Grace Winterton. She’s been referred to as “Mrs. Sherlock Holmes” — a female investigator on the New York police force before women even had the right to vote
They could build a whole series around her. Sort of a Sherlock meets Bramwell but set in 1910s USA.
I would love to see something set in Cahokia. It seems like we almost never get representations of pre-columbian North America. Especially urban settings like Cahokia, which was more populated than London at its height.
I’d love to see a proper high budget film made about the life of Hannibal of Carthage. He is quite a tragic figure in history, which I think could work really with the drama of the cinema.
About the Neanderthals!
The life of Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana, who was president of Mexico… multiple times.
He kept stepping down and then taking it back when he was insulted.
He’s the one who lost his leg to a cannonball (iirc) during the French Pastry War and then lost his fake leg to the US when avoiding capture.
He may have also introduced chicle to New York City.
Very much a larger-than-life character.
Lisbon 1755, both the earthquake/tsunami natural disaster, and the reconstruction & impact to science, the enlightenment, Voltaire, etc.
