A milk cow can generate a 1000 litres of milk a month, it seems reasonable that you might have one or two more cows than you need as a buffer for a dairy farm, and for a larger company with multiple farms, 1000 litres isn’t even a rounding error. Canada produced over 800,000,000 litres of milk in May alone see Stats Canada.
