A detainee and eight others were held in a tiny room with an open toilet in freezing, filthy conditions.
“After nearly 35 years of experience with federal law enforcement in this judicial district, encompassing service as a prosecutor and a judge, I have never encountered anything like this,” Judge Brown, who was appointed by President Trump in 2019, wrote.
The judge also wrote that Immigration and Customs Enforcement had presented false information about Mr. Clarke’s arrest and had ignored court orders by failing to present him for a hearing and provide photographs of the cell. He questioned why the agency should not be held in contempt.
" He questioned why the agency should not be held in contempt." then fuckin do it wtf is going on out here
He questioned why the agency should not be held in contempt.
That’s a great question, your honor. Who would be the one to make that decision?
Is “flays” the new “slam”?
Slam not getting enough clicks anymore, people know “slam” means “gentle rebuke.” Now it’s flay, pillory. At this rate, some time in 2028 we can expect “mild procedural admonition” to be replaced with something like “set off nuclear munitions over home of,” eg. “Judge Obliterates Defendant’s Entire Hometown With a White Phosphor Bomb in Searing Ruling Over Unpaid Parking Fines.” gotta get them clicks
i mean…i’d click that
Of course you would, probably at least the first two or three times, that’s why they’re on this trend.
Yay! They learned a new word!
Awww shit! Get fuckin
SLAMMEDFLAYED, BROS!
“Flays” 🥱
I want to see the physical evidence of a flaying. Or a slamming. At this point everyone needs to start filling frivolous lawsuits against every newspaper for the murder of the first amendment. They are responsible for the erosion of truth and the definition of words that allows Trump to say “false claims” instead of lies.
They’ve moved up to ‘flays’ in the headlines now! How long until we get to ‘defenestrates’ or ‘degloves’?
Some future anthropologist or historian is going to study the increasing violence in news headlines leading up to… whatever it is we’re headed for.
I like “masticate”…
It probably violates the 8th amendment but I understand the desire to do it.
