WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump delivered a politically charged speech Wednesday carried live in prime time on network television, seeking to pin the blame for economic challenges on Democrats while announcing he is sending a $1,776 bonus check to U.S. troops for Christmas.

The remarks came as the nation is preparing to settle down to celebrate the holidays, yet Trump was focused more on divisions within the country than a sense of unity. His speech was a rehash of his recent messaging that has so far been unable to calm public anxiety about the cost of groceries, housing, utilities and other basic goods.

The decision of Donald and his cronies to blame this on the prior administration, despite the fact that all of the polling shows that voters of both team colors are blaming him, has me convinced that 2026 is going to be a landslide for the blue conservatives.

Harris and Joe tried their damndest to gaslight the country into ignoring grocery prices and their skyrocketing medical bills and housing payments, and we saw what happened: a landslide for the other party. You can’t make people ignore the fact that their $100 doesn’t buy them half of what it used to in a grocery store. Food and shelter are basic needs for survival.

It’s been a year, and all Donald has done is go full Gestapo and openly turn the Oval Office into a flea market stall. This is his economy now, regardless of what happened before.

        That’s true.

It’s not like we’ve seen any meaningful opposition from the blue conservatives as fascism has set in over the last 20 years.

i suspect that we won’t see any meaningful opposition until we’ve decayed so far into fascism that another FDR-like leader comes to power and re-invigorates the welfare state again.

either that or it’s guillotines for everybody again, french style.

agreed and my bet is on climate change induced cataclysm since the american propaganda game is too good to let revolution happen; as evidenced by the fact that most americans are aware that change is necessary, but continue to insist on doing the same things they’ve always done anyways.

Yup, shows how disconnected he is. It’s also indicative of how out of touch our Federal Government is, all staffed by millionaires and multi-millionaires, who probably haven’t had to shop for themselves or look at their own bills in years. Most of what they’re consuming day-to-day is undoubtedly budgeted by their office.
