Could this be a Jojo reference? (There’s literally a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure episode like this)

“Darker than the first movie” my ass, don’t you remember Pleasure Island?

Tbh not sure if that is darker than the first movie. Like, a major plot point in Pinocchio is little boys getting lured to an island by pleasures offered to them by strangers. Then they get turned into animal slaves (with human intelligence and emotions).

That one kid transforms into a donkey in front of Pinnochio and his screams of horror gradually turn into the brays of a donkey, his hands losing grip on Pinocchio’s shirt as they turn into hooves.

    That movie is not light.

Is pleasure island a cautionary tale against strangers, or a metaphor for the path to Hell? More at 5.

And later he gets eaten by a monster, inside of which he finds his missing father calmly awaiting the sweet release of death.

      You know, for kids!

I totally forgot that Geppetto just gives up. That entire movie is ridiculously dark. Good thing they had a quirky talking cricket to lighten the mood.

I love that there is a genuine argument for the first movie being darker, despite the gore scene in this comic about a theoretical second movie.

Hey, this is a culture that finds violence more acceptable than a woman’s exposed nipples…

My brother always ran out of the room when the “They never come back…as BOYS!” scene came on.

The original story was “obey your parents or your life will be a literal hell”, it comes close to Grimm’s fairytales in terms of terrorising small children.

If Pinnochio hadn’t believed in himself in that moment, his response would be true and then he wouldn’t be able to defeat the werewolf. It’s only thanks to his strong confidence that he was able to win this. This is a beautiful message

His neck/head is so thin, I think binocular vision would allow you to still see everything.

Yes, I know I’m way over-thinking this, lol.

Well now I am upset that Lies of P doesn’t end with a fight against a werewolf.

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

The rules are simple:

  • The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author’s website, for instance).
  • The comic must be a complete story.
  • If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
  • You may post comics from others or your own.
  • If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
  • The comic can be in any language, but if it’s not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post’s ‘body’ field (note: you don’t need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
  • Politeness.
  • AI-generated comics aren’t allowed.
  • Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.
