In the wake of the historic stand-up strike two years ago, United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain called on the labor movement to prepare to strike together on May 1, 2028. What will it take to make a successful general strike a reality?
Thats what i never understand about american protest actions. They announce it so faar ahead and then also only for one day and never should it inconvenience themselfs.
One gets nothing if one fights the class struggle with foam pillows!
We don’t have the kinds of protections that most developed countries have for their workers. We have constitutionally protected free speech but if you’re carrying a political sign on a sidewalk and you stop walking you can be arrested. The arrest can make you lose your job. There’s no unemployment or health care if you lose your job. People have families and kids. There’s no social safety net. People miss two paychecks and they can’t eat. You can lose your house.
The stakes here are much, much, much higher than they are for you.
Yeah, but most of the countries going through that are not a nuclear power with the biggest military force and an octogenarian toddler in command followed by a bunch of bigoted socopaths.

I understand and agree with your point but… 2028? Seriously? Like… mate in 2028 you might be the new north korea at this rate.
Every country goes through this. We’ll come out the other side like everyone else.

I’m worried about the rest of us.
